No caso das medusas, esses res\u00edduos n\u00e3o s\u00e3o s\u00f3lidos, mas se dissolvem na \u00e1gua. Al\u00e9m disso, a decomposi\u00e7\u00e3o dos restos de comida tamb\u00e9m libera subst\u00e2ncias no ambiente. <\/p><p>Os principais res\u00edduos gerados s\u00e3o chamados de compostos nitrogenados, sendo o am\u00f4nio (NH\u2083) o mais preocupante. Ele n\u00e3o pode ser visto a olho nu, mas sua presen\u00e7a em altas concentra\u00e7\u00f5es torna a \u00e1gua t\u00f3xica para as medusas, podendo lev\u00e1-las \u00e0 morte. <\/p><p>Uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o seria trocar a \u00e1gua frequentemente, mas isso n\u00e3o \u00e9 vi\u00e1vel, pois as medusas excretam constantemente, exigindo trocas de \u00e1gua di\u00e1rias. A melhor alternativa \u00e9 ter um<strong> filtro<\/strong> biol\u00f3gico eficiente, que transforma o am\u00f4nio em compostos menos t\u00f3xicos. <br>Os filtros biol\u00f3gicos possuem materiais porosos como esponjas, bioballs calc\u00e1rias, an\u00e9is cer\u00e2micos ou bioballs pl\u00e1sticas, que servem de suporte para col\u00f4nias de bact\u00e9rias ben\u00e9ficas. Essas bact\u00e9rias s\u00e3o respons\u00e1veis por converter o am\u00f4nio em nitratos, compostos menos t\u00f3xicos para o aqu\u00e1rio.<br>Ter um <strong>filtro biol\u00f3gico saud\u00e1vel e maduro<\/strong> \u00e9 essencial para manter um habitat equilibrado e seguro para suas medusas. Colocar nuestras biobolas, material filtrante en el cajet\u00edn correspondiente.\u00a0 Ahora lo que tenemos es una acuario lleno de agua pero no es el h\u00e1bitat adecuado para nuestras medusas, si en este momento introducimos animales lo m\u00e1s seguro es que no sobrevivan m\u00e1s de una semana e incluso menos ya que ir\u00e1n excretando amonio y lo que conseguiremos es que naden en un agua t\u00f3xico.<\/p><p>El siguiente paso es convertir nuestro medusario en un lugar estable y sano para nuestras medusas es por ello que las biobolas se tienen que ir colonizando de las bacterias nitrificantes.\u00a0 Pero hay que introducir una fuente de comida para ellas que en este caso es el amonio. En el momento que empiece a ver comida las bacterias ir\u00e1n proliferando. Podemos hacerlo de dos maneras.<\/p><ol><li>A\u00f1adimos un poco de comida para que se vaya pudriendo y produzca amonio (la comida para las bacterias) y esperamos que poco a poco nuestro filtro biol\u00f3gico se vaya colonizando de bacterias y que hagan todas las reacciones. Es un proceso que suele durar entre 4-6 semanas.<\/li><li>A\u00f1adimos un poco de comida para que se vaya pudriendo y as\u00ed obtener amonio pero tambi\u00e9n podemos inocular el filtro biol\u00f3gico con bacterias provenientes de alg\u00fan producto que vendan en el mercado como por ejemplo Stability de SEACHEM. Acortamos bastante el proceso pero aun as\u00ed tenemos que asegurarnos que el ciclo est\u00e9 completado. Suele tardar entre 3-4 semanas.<\/li><li>A\u00f1adir sales de amonio que suministra MEDUSEA con el env\u00edo de medusario, al acuario e inocular el filtro biol\u00f3gico con bacterias tipo Stability de Seachem O FRIZZYME. Acortamos a\u00fan m\u00e1s el tiempo de espera, aprox 2-3 semanas.<\/li><\/ol><p>Despu\u00e9s de pasar unos d\u00edas despu\u00e9s de haber echado la fuente de amonio observamos un pico de amonio, seguidamente empezar\u00e1 a disminuir estos niveles y empezar\u00e1n\u00a0 los nitritos a tener presencia. Esto quiere decir que las bacterias est\u00e1n comiendo el amonio y transform\u00e1ndolo en nitritos.\u00a0 Una vez que los niveles de amonio y nitritos alcanzan los niveles a cero todo el nitr\u00f3geno presente estar\u00e1 en forma de nitratos. Est\u00e1 forma de producto nitrogenado es menos t\u00f3xico para los animales. En este momento que habr\u00e1 pasado entre 3-4 semanas es cuando tenemos que hacer nuestro primer cambio de agua (un 20% del volumen del acuario).\u00a0 \u00a1Ahora si que tenemos listo nuestro acuario para introducir las medusas!<\/p><p>Es importante se\u00f1alar que nuestro filtro biol\u00f3gico es como otro ser vivo en nuestro acuario y por lo tanto tambi\u00e9n hay que cuidarlo. Para ello es importante no introducir agua nueva o de distinta salinidad sobre nuestras biobolas porque podemos producir un choque osm\u00f3tico y tener la fatal consecuencia de matar a las bacterias. Tambi\u00e9n tenemos que asegurarnos que coman,\u00a0 es decir, que haya desechos en el agua para que ellas se alimenten sino morir\u00edan de inanici\u00f3n, pero esto no ocurre si tenemos nuestros animales en el acuario y que coman satisfactoriamente.
