  2. 1kg marine salt to prepare the saltwater. Mix the salt with distilled water (available at supermarkets). <\/li>\n
  3. Ammonium salts to initiate the biological filter<\/li>\n
  4. Bacteria \u2013 add the dose indicated on the bottle. If there is leftover, it can be used for maintenance. With the full dose, we ensure the maturation process takes place. <\/li>\n
  5. Test kits for the 4 essential water parameters<\/li>\n
  6. Hydrometer\/thermometer \u2013 to measure density and temperature of your aquarium <\/li>\n

    SETTING UP THE JELLYFISH AQUARIUM<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Unbox and unwrap the aquarium, rinse well with hot water. Rinse the bioballs well and place them into the ring. Connect the pump with its tube to the water inlet, and lastly place the sponge across and behind the filter holes. <\/p>\n

    Prepare the saltwater mix with aquarium salt and distilled water and fill the aquarium. Be careful not to wet the electrical connectors. Plug in the aquarium so the water mixes well. <\/p>\n

    After 24 hours, add the vial of ammonium salts and the first dose of bacteria.<\/p>\n

    After 72 hours, add the other half of the bacteria bottle.<\/p>\n

    Leave everything running with the pump fully open for good circulation.<\/p>\n

    Run the tests \u2014 the first ones will show ammonium present and 0 in nitrates:<\/p>\n

    pH>7.8;ammonium>0; nitrites=0; nitrates=0<\/p>\n

    As time goes on, ammonium will drop and nitrites and nitrates will appear:<\/p>\n

    pH>7.8; ammonium>0; nitrites>0; nitrates>0<\/p>\n

    When ammonium and nitrites are 0 and only nitrates are present, that\u2019s when you can order the jellyfish:<\/p>\n
